Carmen Colón represented Detroit/Wayne at the National Black Child Development Institute Conference on October 14 in Charlotte, NC. Her panel was titled "Trusted Messengers: A Community-Based Approach to Early Learning". She highlighted many of Great Start's partnerships around Wayne County! If you are interested in becoming a Talking is Teaching Trusted Messenger or learning about the campaign, email carmen@greatstartwayne.org. Michigan Reconnect Expansion, Adults Ages 21 and Over Eligible for Tuition-Free Community College. Governor Gretchen Whitmer kicked off “Opening Week” for adults ages 21 to 24 who have not yet earned a college degree to enroll in Michigan Reconnect, a tuition-free community college scholarship program previously limited to those 25 and older.
